Personal Support Worker (PSW) Quality Assurance Resources

All school board PSW programs are required to undergo CESBA’s Quality Assurance (QA) process every three years to ensure they are meeting the current Ministry of Colleges and Universities (MCU) PSW Training Standard Vocational Learning Outcomes (VLOs) and Elements of Performance (EOPs). The following links provide key information and resources on the overview of the process including the requirements for theory, lab, placement and other key components.

All programs must administer CESBA’s provincial PSW exam to their students before they can receive their PSW certificate. Please refer to the information in the QA Handbook below for further information and reach out to Anita Plunkett aplunkett@cesba.com to receive the latest version and a copy of the accompanying Self-Assessment Checklist, also below.
