About Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority (HSCPOA)

Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority (HSCPOA) is a new regulatory body in Ontario with a mandate of public protection. HSCPOA regulates (oversees) HSCPOA registered Personal Support Workers (PSWs). PSWs that register with HSCPOA demonstrate to employers and care recipients their dedication to deliver competent, safe, quality, ethical, accountable care to Ontarians in their homes, hospitals, long-term care facilities, or environments where care is provided.

Most graduates of CESBA PSW education programs will be eligible for registration with HSCPOA through Path 1: Ontario PSW Education, if they completed their training on or after July 1, 2014. Those educated through a CESBA PSW education program before July 1, 2014, may be eligible for PSW registration with HSCPOA through Path 2: Employed as a PSW in Ontario.
