CBC’s Ontario Today Spotlights Adult High School With Executive Director Paul Cox

Adult and continuing education in Ontario was centre stage in CBC Radio’s popular call-in show, Ontario Today with Amanda Pfeffer. She interviewed our Executive Director Paul Cox and took calls from those whose lives have been improved by getting a high school diploma as an adult. Paul shared how affirming high school graduations are, “because lives are changing in front of you.”

The segment featured callers who praised their local learning centres, mentioning credit, Get SET and PSW programs. They also expressed the importance of access to in-person classrooms and well-funded schools. The impact felt across generations was brought home through moving personal stories.

Principal Mario DiVittorio, from St. Charles Adult and Continuing Education (HWCDSB), also joined the program to offer his front line perspective from his Hamilton school.
