New LBS Practitioner Training Website

CESBA has launched the newly updated Literacy & Basic Skills (LBS) Practitioner Training website at lbs.cesba.com. The updated training modules, intended for new LBS practitioners and managers, are easy follow and understand. The fun and interactive modules are aligned with the OALCF, milestones and culminating tasks. People who complete all course modules will receive a certificate.

Guest Speaker: Erin McGinn, Assistant Deputy Minister, Highly Skilled Workforce Division

Erin McGinn was appointed Assistant Deputy Minister, Highly Skilled Workforce Division for the Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Development (MAESD) on September 12, 2016. She provides executive leadership and strategic direction in the implementation of the government’s Highly Skilled Workforce Strategy, which seeks to ensure that Ontario’s workforce is prepared to meet the demands of the economy. Prior to joining MAESD, Erin served as Assistant Vice-President, Communications, Government and Community Engagement at Ryerson University. Erin moved to Ryerson from progressively senior roles in the Office of the Premier of Ontario and the Office of the Prime Minister of Canada.

Erin McGinn est sous-ministre adjointe, Division du développement d’une main-d’œuvre hautement qualifiée, ministère de l’Enseignement supérieur et de la Formation professionnelle (MESFP) depuis le 12 septembre 2016. Elle assure la direction et l’orientation stratégique dans la mise en œuvre de la Stratégie pour une main-d’œuvre hautement qualifiée du gouvernement, dont le but est d’assurer que les travailleurs ontariens sont bien préparés pour répondre aux demandes de l’économie. Avant d’entrer au service du MESFP, Mme McGinn a été vice-présidente adjointe, Communications, Participation au gouvernement et participation communautaire, Université Ryerson. Elle a occupé diverses fonctions au sein du Cabinet de la première ministre de l’Ontario et du Cabinet du premier ministre du Canada avant d’entrer au service de l’Université Ryerson.
